We work closely with all major agencies supporting victims of trafficking and labour exploitation and we accept London based and national referrals. To assist our partners we operate a telephone legal advice line for agencies providing front line advice to victims. We aim to support partner agencies by helping them to provide targeted advice at an earlier stage to better protect victims' legal interests.
We work closely with London’s leading chambers and have a network of barristers who will assist clients on a pro bono basis where necessary. ATLEU co-ordinates a strategic litigation practitioners group which draws on the expertise of this network and meets quarterly to select test cases aimed at developing jurisprudence to enhance victims’ rights under trafficking legislation and policies.
Where compensation is awarded by a court or tribunal and the trafficker or employer does not comply with the order for payment, we work with city firms that represent clients pro bono to enforce court and tribunal awards.
We operate a volunteer scheme and encourage applications from those with relevant experience and an interest in our work. We harness the talents of lawyers, both pre and post qualification, to provide additional support to our clients. Volunteers gain excellent legal work experience and many go on to obtain employment in their field of choice.
If you wish to find out more about working in partnership, referring clients or volunteering with us please contact a member of the ATLEU team or email us here.
