Training on compensation claims for victims of trafficking

Our compensation specialists, Jamila Duncan-Bosu and Juliette Nash will be holding a training session for lawyers who want to bring a claim for victims of trafficking.

What: Compensation claims for victims of trafficking and modern slavery
When: Wednesday 5 April, 3-6pm
Where: 7BR, 7 Bedford Row, London, WC1R 4BS

Areas to be covered in the workshop will include: Using the employment tribunal and courts to obtain remedies, how to choose the best forum, how to prepare a claim and useful tactics to use when preparing your case.

The Ministry of Justice published their review into legal aid for victims of trafficking and modern slavery in  December. In it, they accept that victims do not have effective access to justice and 'the likely demand for legal help… is not being met'.

If you have been granted the 10 additional matter starts that the Legal Aid Agency have allowed for in response to this review, then this training will help you to understand how to make a claim for your client.
