ATLEU is proud to announce the opening of our new office in Sheffield.

We are thrilled to begin our award winning practice in the north of England. We have long recognised the difficulties that victims of trafficking experience in getting legal representation around the country. We want to thank those who have helped us to get this far.

We are starting out with an immigration and public law practice in Sheffield that we hope can make a contribution to the need for legal advice faced by victims in this area. We also want to improve our existing support to people working with victims by building better connections outside the south of England.

Launch event

We want to celebrate our opening and follow up from Anti Slavery Day by bringing together the people who are working to end modern slavery on Thursday 25 October. Our event will be almost three years after the Modern Slavery Act came into force and will look at what life is like for survivors now. We hope this event will be a chance to meet members of our team so you know who we are.

Paul Blomfield MP will open the event, as MP of Sheffield Central and someone who has a strong interest in the rights of survivors of modern slavery. He helped establish the charity Focus on Labour Exploitation and is now their trustee. He is also a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Migration.

We will also have a panel of speakers including Detective Sergeant Nikki Leach from South Yorkshire Police's anti slavery unit, Phillipa Roberts, Director of Legal Policy at Hope for Justice, barrister Lucy Mair of Garden Court North and Robin Brierley, Chair of the West-Midlands, Cleveland and Cheshire Anti-Slavery Networks.

Several members of the ATLEU team will be present, including our compensation and housing law specialists, and we look forward to talking with you over a drink after the event.
