Advice for professionals

We offer free advice for lawyers, advocates and support professionals assisting survivors of trafficking and slavery across England and Wales.

We help with advice queries made by a professional on behalf of a survivor, in the areas of law practised by our legal team and other issues within our knowledge.

This advice service is for professionals only. We are unable to provide advice directly to survivors under this service. If you would like us to take on a legal case for yourself, or a friend, family member or acquaintance, please visit our legal help page and complete the request for legal help form,

This is not an urgent or emergency advice service.

ATLEU caseworkers answer the advice queries and because we are a small team this affects our capacity to reply. If you need urgent advice for someone you are working with, please look at the suggested alternative advice lines below or look for legal aid advice on this website. Unfortunately, due to capacity reasons, we are also not able to review documents as part of this service.

Trafficking Action Compensation Group (TCAG)

The Trafficking Compensation Action Group aims to bring together practitioners who work on trafficking and modern slavery compensation claims, in order to share best practice, improve access to justice and provide each other with advice and support.

Led by ATLEU, we want to ensure that survivors of trafficking can seek compensation for their treatment and have access to quality legal advice in order to do so.

TCAG meetings are hosted by 7BR Chambers, whose barristers are regularly instructed in compensation matters brought by survivors of trafficking. The group meets quarterly.

To sign up, or for more information, please email tcag@atleu.org.uk
